Whatever That Was, I Needed It
It came in
right between meetings—
me, neck-deep in slide decks and simmering deadlines,
*barely* breathing
through another round of someone talking too long. (about something I don’t care about)
Then: Ding.
And there you were—
moving through reps
like the weights were lucky to be near you.
Focused.
Strong.
Unbothered.
Everything I wish I felt in that moment.
And just as the clip was about to end,
there it was—
that smile.
The one you don’t even know you’re giving.
The one that says:
"Yeah, I know you’re watching."
"I know this helps."
And it did.
Whatever that was—
the flash of you,
the motion,
the effort,
the glow,
the wide smirk that closed it out…
I needed it.
Not because it was loud.
Not because it was planned.
But because it was you.
Exactly when I needed you.
Again.
