Just another Thursday—

Laptop humming overtime,
       tasks stacked like firewood
       neatly piled on my calendar,
       fingers flying across keys,

       emails lined like dominoes,
       falling in satisfying order.

I’m busy enough today to keep thoughts from drifting—
                                              mostly.

Last night OKC closed out the Wolves:
                  three games to one,
          Western Conference settled,
       finals just around the corner.

Tonight, Pacers and Knicks tip off again—
         Indiana one win from the Finals,
         Knicks scramblin' to stay alive,
     every dribble another question mark.

Even baseball stayed quiet,
     her Braves doubling up with Philly,
     making up for yesterday’s rainout,

     none of our other teams playin' today.

Meanwhile, Stars try to fend off elimination—
           game five against the Oilers,
           hoping for a miracle comeback,

           satisfied just to see the series go six.

Nothing special happening,
Just a regular Thursday,
Glad for enough noise…

to muffle how *Loud* your absence feels.
